'Since when don’t they like pink?' exhibition was part of the Back to Athens 6 International Cultural Festival. Since 2012, Back to Athens Festival unites the city’s art scene in a public showcase of contemporary art and expression that boosts social awareness and restores the residents of Athens to the City Center. The show took place from 1st to 10th of June 2018 at the 2nd floor of the building on Vissis and Agathonos street.

Tacking the abandoned space as a starting point, we create narratives based on everyday actions, behaviors and memories, establishing a presence within the space. Currently, we only perceive these presences through their absence.
Familiar or not, characteristic marks of the space such as imprints and half-painted walls, reveal information on the past and exigencies of daily life.
In this project, through constructed memories and situations that combine with reminisces, we examine our behavioral structures and they evolve.
Eventually, the room becomes a metaphor, extending the scope of discovery and exploration. Remains of everyday life, reflect relationships that develop and continue to grow within the space and among people. Standards for a "perfect life" collapse before the ravages of time, as they dominated by established opinions and overpowered by “common sense”.
We investigate repeating behavioral structures and their origins through memories, through individual needs and beliefs. The boundaries we establish between one another, consciously and unconsciously, as a process of self-identification, segmentation, protection or even isolation. Our dependency with the outer environment and system in which we live, the role of the individual as a single unit enclosed within a large social structure - yet, also how ephemeral interventions can influence and reform existing structures.
Therefore, do we perceive these behavioral structures as non-static, as a constantly evolving process interacting with space, through which we seek new approaches. In the future, what will happen to this room? What features will remain as martyrs, commending existing behaviors and situations?

Με αφορμή τον εγκαταλελειμμένο χώρο, δημιουργούμε αφηγήσεις γύρω από καθημερινές ενέργειες, συμπεριφορές και αναμνήσεις που συνέθεταν παρουσίες στο χώρο. Παρουσίες που τις εκλαμβάνουμε πλέον μέσω της απουσίας τους.
Χαρακτηριστικά του χώρου, οικεία και μη αποτυπώματα και μισοβαμμένοι τοίχοι, αποκαλύπτουν ένα πιθανό παρελθόν, μια αλληλεπίδραση μέσα από την προηγούμενη καθημερινή του χρήση.
Σε αυτό το project, κατασκευάζουμε μνήμες και καταστάσεις που συνδυάζονται με τα εναπομείναντα σημάδια στον χώρο, για να προσεγγίσουμε ερωτήματα σχετικά με τις δομές των συμπεριφορών μας και πως εξελίσσονται.
Τελικά, το δωμάτιο λειτουργεί σαν μια μεταφορά και ένα μέσο εξερεύνησης μια ευρύτερης κατάστασης. Τα απομεινάρια της καθημερινής ζωής, αντανακλούν σχέσεις που αναπτύχθηκαν και αναπτύσσονται μεταξύ του χώρου και των ανθρώπων. Τα πρότυπα για μια ‘τέλεια ζωή’ καταρρέουν μπροστά στην φθορά του χρόνου, ενώ παράλληλα έρχονται σε σύγκρουση με τις επικρατούσες αντιλήψεις και την κοινή λογική.
Διερευνούμε αυτές τις επαναλαμβανόμενες δομές συμπεριφορών και την προέλευση τους, μέσα από τις μνήμες, τις ανάγκες και τις πεποιθήσεις του καθενός. Τα όρια που δημιουργούμε /θέτουμε μεταξύ μας, συνειδητά και ασυνείδητα, ως μια διαδικασία αυτοπροσδιορισμού, αυτοεξαίρεσης, προστασίας ή και απομόνωσης. Καθώς και την αλληλεξάρτηση με το ευρύτερο περιβάλλον στο οποίο ζούμε, τον ρολό της μονάδας σε ένα τέτοιο σύνολο, αλλά και πώς εφήμερες επεμβάσεις μπορούν να μετασχηματίσουν τις υπάρχουσες δομές.
Επομένως, αντιλαμβανόμαστε της δομές συμπεριφοράς ως κάτι μη στατικό, ως μια διαρκώς εξελισσόμενη διαδικασία σε αλληλεπίδραση με τον χώρο και μέσο αυτού αναζητούμε νέες πιθανές προσεγγίσεις. Τι θα συμβεί σε αυτό το δωμάτιο μετά? Ποια χαρακτηριστικά θα παραμείνουν και θα υποδηλώνουν τις παρούσες συμπεριφορές και καταστάσεις?
